Rut 2: Abriendo la puerta de la bendición con tus acciones.

Rut 2:5-13:
Y Boaz preguntó a su criado encargado de los segadores: —¿De quién es esa joven?
El criado encargado de los segadores le respondió diciendo: —Ella es la joven moabita que ha vuelto con Noemí de los campos de Moab. Me ha dicho: “Permite que yo espigue y recoja entre las gavillas detrás de los segadores”. Ella vino y ha estado desde la mañana hasta ahora. No ha vuelto a casa ni por un momento.
Entonces Boaz dijo a Rut: —Escucha, hija mía: No vayas a espigar a otro campo ni te alejes de aquí. Aquí estarás junto con mis criadas. Mira bien el campo donde siegan y síguelas; porque yo he mandado a los criados que no te molesten. Cuando tengas sed, ve a los depósitos y bebe del agua que sacan los criados.
Ella se postró sobre su rostro, se inclinó a tierra y le dijo: —¿Por qué he hallado gracia ante tus ojos para que tú te hayas fijado en mí, siendo yo una extranjera?
Boaz le respondió diciendo: —Ciertamente me han contado todo lo que has hecho por tu suegra después de la muerte de tu marido, y que has dejado a tu padre, a tu madre y la tierra donde has nacido, y has venido a un pueblo que no conociste previamente. ¡Que el SEÑOR premie tu acción! Que tu recompensa sea completa de parte del SEÑOR Dios de Israel, ya que has venido a refugiarte bajo sus alas.
Ella dijo: —Señor mío, halle yo gracia ante tus ojos porque me has consolado, y porque has hablado al corazón de tu sierva, aunque yo no soy ni como una de tus criadas.

Después que Noemí regresa cabizbaja a su tierra, Rut se puso manos a la obra a buscar el sustento para las dos. Tal vez ella no se daba cuenta que ese acto noble y admirable de cuidar a su suegra y adoptar las costumbres de Israel había alegrado el corazón de Dios. Y no solamente estaba agradando a Dios con sus acciones sino que esto era visible ante los parientes y vecinos de Noemí.
Es por eso que Dios guió a Rut para que comenzara a recoger las espigas en el campo de uno de los parientes cercanos de Noemí, ¡y ella no lo sabía!
Los pobres y desamparados podían hacer esto por ley, aunque esta tarea era humillante; Rut halló gracia ante los trabajadores y la admiraban por su amor hacia Noemí, por eso no la molestaban. Además, un personaje clave de esta historia, Booz, sintió curiosidad acerca de la joven trabajadora en su campo, y ya todos sabían de su dedicación de cuidar a Noemí sin necesidad de hacerlo. Él decidió ayudarla, ordenando que dejaran caer a propósito espigas para facilitarle el trabajo y llevara mucho grano de trigo a su casa. Cuando se acercó a hablar con ella, la bendijo por su labor con Noemí y por haberse acercado al Dios de Israel.

Esto que notó Booz nos recuerda el primer y segundo mandamiento más importante: Ama a Dios y ama a tu prójimo. Rut amó a su prójimo cuidando abnegadamente de Noemí y amó a Dios adoptando las costumbres y leyes que Dios había impuesto en el pueblo. Ya sea que entendiera esto completamente o no, Rut estaba cumpliendo los mandamientos de Dios, tal vez más que otros israelitas; por eso Dios estaba poniendo una gracia especial en ella para que fuera admirada, protegida y bendecida por los que la rodeaban.
¡Qué hermoso pensar que, en tiempos de necesidad, Dios honrará tus acciones nobles con los desamparados, tu amor hacia tu prójimo, y tu sumisión a Su Palabra, abriendo las ventanas de los cielos a favor tuyo! ¡No dejes de ser fiel al Señor, de hacer Su voluntad, de ayudar al que esté a tu alcance, de respetar a todos, tener compasión de la viuda, el huérfano y el necesitado, de trabajar con honestidad y dar un buen ejemplo delante de los que interactúan contigo en el diario vivir; y nunca dejes de confiar que el Señor está contigo!
Dios se alegra al ver a un hijo o hija obrando justamente, viviendo en integridad, con un corazón noble y actuando rectamente, que no se queda viviendo en el pasado o quejándose de su situación actual, evitando caer en el pozo de amargura.
Rut se levantó, no se conformó, no se puso a mendigar monedas sino que sacó fuerzas para trabajar al sol del día y desde temprano hasta tarde se esforzó; y por eso Dios la honró bendiciéndola más de lo que usualmente alguien podía recoger en un día, recibiendo un buen trato y siendo exaltada ante los ojos de todos.

Ruth 2: Opening the door of blessing with your actions.

Ruth 2:5-13:
Then Boaz said to his servant who was in charge of the reapers, “Whose young woman is this?”
So the servant who was in charge of the reapers answered and said, “It is the young Moabite woman who came back with Naomi from the country of Moab. And she said, ‘Please let me glean and gather after the reapers among the sheaves.’ So she came and has continued from morning until now, though she rested a little in the house.”
Then Boaz said to Ruth, “You will listen, my daughter, will you not? Do not go to glean in another field, nor go from here, but stay close by my young women. Let your eyes be on the field which they reap, and go after them. Have I not commanded the young men not to touch you? And when you are thirsty, go to the vessels and drink from what the young men have drawn.”
So she fell on her face, bowed down to the ground, and said to him, “Why have I found favor in your eyes, that you should take notice of me, since I am a foreigner?”
And Boaz answered and said to her, “It has been fully reported to me, all that you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband, and how you have left your father and your mother and the land of your birth, and have come to a people whom you did not know before. The Lord repay your work, and a full reward be given you by the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings you have come for refuge.”
Then she said, “Let me find favor in your sight, my lord; for you have comforted me, and have spoken kindly to your maidservant, though I am not like one of your maidservants.”

After Naomi returns to her land with her head down, Ruth got down to work to find sustenance for both of them. Perhaps she did not realize that this noble and admirable act of caring for her mother-in-law and adopting the customs of Israel had gladdened the heart of God. And not only was she pleasing God with her actions, but this was visible to Naomi's relatives and neighbors.
That's why God guided Ruth to start picking ears in the field of one of Naomi's close relatives, and she didn't know it!
The poor and homeless could do this by law, although this task was humiliating; Ruth found favor with the workers and they admired her for her love for Naomi, so they didn't bother her. Also, a key character in this story, Boaz, was curious about the young worker in his field, and everyone already knew of her dedication to taking care of Naomi without needing to. He decided to help her, ordering spikes to be dropped on purpose to make her job easier and to take a lot of grain of wheat home. When he came to speak with her, he blessed her for her work with Naomi and for having come closer to the God of Israel.

What Boaz noticed reminds us of the first and second most important commandments: Love God and love your neighbor. Ruth loved her neighbor by selflessly caring for Naomi and loved God by adopting the customs and laws that God had imposed on the people. Whether or not she fully understood this, Ruth was fulfilling God's commandments, perhaps more so than other Israelites; that is why God was putting a special grace in her so that she would be admired, protected and blessed by those around her.
How beautiful to think that, in times of need, God will honor your noble actions with the helpless, your love towards your neighbor, and your submission to His Word, opening the windows of heaven in your favor! Do not stop being faithful to the Lord, doing His will, helping those within your reach, respecting everyone, having compassion for the widow, the orphan and the needy, working honestly and setting a good example in front of everyone! of those who interact with you in daily life; and never stop trusting that the Lord is with you!
God is happy to see a son or daughter working justly, living in integrity, with a noble heart and acting righteously, who does not stay living in the past or complaining about their current situation, avoiding falling into the pit of bitterness.
Ruth got up, she was not satisfied, she did not begin to beg for coins but she found strength to work in the sun of the day and from early to late she made an effort; and for that reason God honored blessing her more than anyone could usually collect in a day, receiving good treatment, and being exalted in the eyes of all.
