Every once in awhile, I speak to someone who makes me reconsider much of what I do. It's rare, but special because it's times like these that I am so deeply honored to have a real connection. I would even say it's been happening a lot lately, as I've been speaking to a number of newer musical artists from Norway.

Geirmund Hansen is one such person.

I fell in love with his voice a few years back when I discovered his immense band, Rendezvous Point, through another musical interest of mine, the Norwegian progressive powerhouse, Leprous. As is often the case anymore, musicians find different projects to be a part of and Baard Kolstad, who drums for Leprous, also has his hands deep in the pockets of Rendezvous Point, his "first love."

This sort of accident found its way into my musical heart where it has taken up residence and refuses to be evicted.

I love Rendezvous Point. To me, they are a perfect band of musicians. 5 incredibly gifted players who have figured out a unique sound and musical counterpoint that slips across musical genres into something stunningly unique. My new friend, Geirmund, is the voice and the soul behind that secret concoction.

I will say nothing more, but I encourage you to listen to the entire hour, because our conversation builds to a conclusion that I didn't see coming. After this show, I think you'll agree.... Geirmund is special. Very special.
