mostra di piùTommy "The Duke" Morrison was a two-time world heavyweight champion whose conquests included George Foreman, Pinklon Thomas, James "Quick" Tillis, Joe Hipp and Carl "The Truth" Williams during a 20-year career in which he compiled a record of 48-3-1, with 42 KOs. At 19, he was handpicked by Sylvester Stallone to co-star in "Rocky V." He was built like a Greek statue, had a devil-may-care outlook, and, to young Kenzie, he may as well have been a Marvel Comics superhero.
Morrison's 27-year-old son -- now an unbeaten heavyweight himself (13-0-2, 11 KOs) -- joins us on The Ringside Boxing Show to reminisce about a legendary father who lived fast, died young, and left a big footprint in boxing history.
This conversation with Kenzie Witt Morrison --- now under new management at TEAMMORRISON2018@yahoo.com -- is loaded with colorful stories about a true boxing legend who also happened to be a much-loved dad.
Our interview with Kenzie Morrison follows Paul McLaughlin's weekly report on the United Kingdom's always-colorful boxing scene, and our expert analysts, Travis Hartman, Rizwaan Zahid, and John J. Raspanti break down the weekend fights -- Felix Verdejo's stunning TKO loss, Oleksandr Gvosdyk's tougher-than-expected decision over Mehdi Amar, and Jose Ramirez's impressive 12-round victory over Amir Imam.
Dennis Taylor is host of The Ringside Boxing Show, editor/publisher of www.ringsideboxingshow.com, and co-author (with John J. Raspanti) of "Intimate Warfare: The True Story of the Arturo Gatti and Micky Ward Boxing Trilogy," currently on Amazon's bestseller list.
