Rider Waite Tarot Card Deck
=======================
I learned how to read cards on the Rider Waite Tarot Deck and the instructor I had said its easiest to have everyone on the same deck when explaining the symbolism. With time, I was able to transfer that knowledge to other decks. If you are a beginner at learning Taro, below are some links to the Rider Waite Tarot Deck to follow along if you need a set of cards. About Carrie and @QuickLearnQuests
===============================
I have been reading Tarot cards for 30 years for fun. I took a two and a half day course, and I was so excited to be able to take the mystery out of getting readings done for myself, and to be able to do them myself. We also have social media channels, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and all major podcast distributors such as Spotify, Apple, Audible and many others under the handle @quickLearnQuests. I am focusing mostly on my podcasts and YouTube at the moment, but I will expand into more social media more consistently when I find my feet.

Welcome to the "Memorizing Taro Cards" podcast, your three-minute lessons on learning and memorizing each card using symbolism. I use the Rider Waite Taro, but you can view the card while you listen using your own Taro card deck or a computer. Today, we're exploring the Five of Swords, focusing on reversals. Let's start with the divine meaning of the card and then its meaning when reversed.
The Five of Wands upright often represents competition, conflict, or tension. It's a card that signals situations where people's differences in opinions or priorities create friction, whether it's in relationships, work, or personal goals.
However, when the Five of Wands appears reversed, it suggests a shift in this energy. It often points to a desire for peace, leading to resolved conflicts. It can also mean that a decision was made that will help to avoid unnecessary confrontation. The reversed Five of Wands may also indicate that you're ready to put the disagreement aside and choose harmony. It can also suggest that the conflict was avoided because you decided to step back from a situation rather than engage in a heated discussion.
So what does that mean when we see the Five of Swords reversed in a reading? When the Five of Wands reversed appears in a reading, it's often a sign that a period of tension or struggle is ending. It's an invitation to find common ground, release grudges, and focus on collaboration instead of competition. It may also suggest that you're taking a passive role to avoid confrontation. The reversed Five of Wands asks you to reflect on whether avoidance is helping or if open communication would better serve the situation in the long run.
So, what is the best way to memorize the Five of Swords in reverse? Tying the card to a personal experience helps me remember it. For example, my reversed Five of Swords moment consistently shows how with age, I am extending more grace to others than I used to when things go wrong. I bite my tongue and choose words more carefully. I am far from perfect, and anytime grace has been extended to me, it has been a wave of relief that I haven't spoiled something important by making a mistake or simply being misunderstood. My world has felt better when everyone lets go of petty conflict.
That's all for today's episode on the Five of Swords reversed. This card reminds us that peace is often a choice and that true harmony requires external resolution and inner clarity. Remember, to memorize tarot, keep practicing tarot. Thanks for listening.
