Reflection
Conflict is inevitable in families, but how we respond to it determines whether our homes become battlegrounds or places of grace. The Apostle Paul reminds us not to let anger take root but to extend kindness and forgiveness—just as God has shown mercy to us. One of the most striking biblical examples of conflict resolution is found in the story of Abraham and Lot (Genesis 13:5–12). When strife arose between their herdsmen because the land could not support both of their flocks, Abraham chose peace over pride. He said to Lot, “Let’s not have any quarrelling between you and me… for we are close relatives.” Abraham then gave Lot the first choice of land, trusting that God’s blessing was not tied to territory but to obedience and peace. Like Abraham, resolving conflict with grace requires humility, self-control, and faith. It’s not about who wins the argument, but about preserving love and unity. When parents demonstrate forgiveness and calm conversation, children learn that conflict can be a classroom for grace—not a cause for division.
