Story Transcript:

Ro: Soarele strălucea puternic deasupra Grădinii Cișmigiu din București.
En: The sun was shining brightly over Cișmigiu Garden in Bucharest.

Ro: Pe aleile parcului treceau oameni veseli, copii alergând și bătrâni plimbându-se încet.
En: Cheerful people, children running, and elderly folks walking slowly passed by on the park's paths.

Ro: Ionel se plimba și el, gânditor, cu pași grei.
En: Ionel was also walking, thoughtful, with heavy steps.

Ro: În ultima vreme, lucrurile nu mergeau deloc bine pentru el.
En: Lately, things hadn't been going well for him at all.

Ro: Nu reușea să scrie nimic și nu mai simțea că poate să contribuie cu ceva valoros.
En: He couldn't write anything and no longer felt he could contribute anything valuable.

Ro: În timp ce se gândea la problemele sale, a auzit un strigăt disperat.
En: As he was contemplating his problems, he heard a desperate cry.

Ro: O femeie striga după ajutor.
En: A woman was shouting for help.

Ro: Apropiindu-se, Ionel a văzut-o pe Elena, o prietenă de multă vreme, care era foarte agitată.
En: Approaching, Ionel saw Elena, a longtime friend, who was very agitated.

Ro: "Ce s-a întâmplat, Elena?
En: "What happened, Elena?"

Ro: " a întrebat el îngrijorat.
En: he asked, worried.

Ro: "Un copil s-a pierdut!
En: "A child is lost!

Ro: Părinții lui sunt disperați.
En: His parents are desperate.

Ro: Nu-l găsesc nicăieri", i-a răspuns Elena, aproape plângând.
En: They can't find him anywhere," Elena replied, almost crying.

Ro: Ionel a simțit un fior de adrenalină.
En: Ionel felt a surge of adrenaline.

Ro: Poate acesta era momentul să dovedească ceva, pentru el și pentru ceilalți.
En: Maybe this was the moment to prove something, to himself and to others.

Ro: "Pot să ajut!
En: "I can help!

Ro: Spune-mi ce știi despre copil," a zis Ionel hotărât.
En: Tell me what you know about the child," said Ionel, determined.

Ro: Elena i-a descris copilul: avea cinci ani, purta un tricou roșu și pantaloni scurți albaștri.
En: Elena described the child: he was five years old, wearing a red shirt and blue shorts.

Ro: Ionel a început să caute, deși nu era în cea mai bună formă fizică.
En: Ionel started searching, although he wasn't in the best physical shape.

Ro: Aleile parcului erau aglomerate, iar Ionel gâfâia după câțiva pași rapizi.
En: The park's paths were crowded, and Ionel was gasping for breath after a few brisk steps.

Ro: S-a oprit puțin, gâfâind, să-și tragă sufletul și s-a întrebat dacă ar trebui să lase totul în mâinile profesioniștilor.
En: He stopped for a moment, panting, to catch his breath and wondered if he should leave everything in the hands of professionals.

Ro: Dar nu putea să se dea bătut.
En: But he couldn't give up.

Ro: A continuat să caute, rugând oamenii din parc să-l ajute.
En: He continued searching, asking park-goers for help.

Ro: Într-un colț al parcului, aproape de lac, l-a văzut pe Bogdan, un polițist cunoscut.
En: In a corner of the park, near the lake, he saw Bogdan, a known policeman.

Ro: Ionel s-a apropiat repede și i-a spus ce s-a întâmplat.
En: Ionel quickly approached and told him what had happened.

Ro: Bogdan era sceptic, dar l-a ascultat pe Ionel și a început și el să caute copilul.
En: Bogdan was skeptical but listened to Ionel and started searching for the child as well.

Ro: După ore de căutare, Ionel a ajuns lângă lac.
En: After hours of searching, Ionel arrived near the lake.

Ro: Acolo, lângă apă, a văzut o figură micuță, un copil trist, privind spre apă.
En: There, by the water, he saw a small figure, a sad child, looking at the water.

Ro: Era copilul pierdut.
En: It was the lost child.

Ro: Ionel s-a apropiat încet.
En: Ionel approached slowly.

Ro: S-a gândit rapid la ce ar trebui să facă.
En: He quickly thought about what he should do.

Ro: Dacă copilul se speria și alerga spre lac, s-ar putea îneca.
En: If the child got scared and ran toward the lake, he could drown.

Ro: "Hei, micule," a zis Ionel cu blândețe, "mama și tata te caută.
En: "Hey, little one," said Ionel gently, "mom and dad are looking for you.

Ro: Eu sunt aici să te ajut.
En: I’m here to help you."

Ro: "Copilul l-a privit, lacrimile curgându-i pe obraz.
En: The child looked at him, tears running down his cheeks.

Ro: Ionel s-a apropiat încet, până când a fost destul de aproape să-l prindă de mână.
En: Ionel approached slowly, until he was close enough to take the child's hand.

Ro: "Ești în siguranță acum.
En: "You are safe now.

Ro: Hai să mergem să-i găsim pe mama și tata," a spus el, simțind o mare ușurare.
En: Let's go find your mom and dad," he said, feeling great relief.

Ro: Cu copilul de mână, Ionel s-a întors la Elena și Bogdan.
En: With the child in hand, Ionel returned to Elena and Bogdan.

Ro: Părinții copilului l-au îmbrățișat pe băiețel, plângând de bucurie.
En: The child's parents embraced the boy, crying with joy.

Ro: Elena i-a zâmbit lui Ionel, cu recunoștință.
En: Elena smiled at Ionel, with gratitude.

Ro: "Mulțumesc, Ionel.
En: "Thank you, Ionel.

Ro: Ai fost un adevărat erou azi.
En: You were a real hero today."

Ro: "Ionel a simțit o căldură în suflet.
En: Ionel felt warmth in his heart.

Ro: Nu era un erou, dar reușise să facă ceva bun.
En: He wasn't a hero, but he had managed to do something good.

Ro: Pentru prima dată în mult timp, simțea că nu e un eșec.
En: For the first time in a long while, he felt he wasn't a failure.

Ro: Avea o încredere nouă în sine.
En: He had new confidence in himself.

Ro: Știa că putea să-și schimbe viața.
En: He knew he could change his life.

Ro: Și totul a început cu o simplă decizie, luată într-o zi călduroasă de vară, în Grădina Cișmigiu.
