Okay, Red Lobster, we need to have a conversation, because I genuinely want to know what happened. And I'm not coming into this as somebody who has always disliked the restaurant. It's actually the complete opposite. I used to love Red Lobster. Back in the day, Red Lobster was one of those restaurants where going there actually felt like you were going somewhere. You could go after homecoming, prom, on a date, with family, or for a celebration, and getting seafood at Red Lobster felt like a treat. That's exactly why my recent experience was so disappointing. I'm comparing today's experience with a restaurant I actually remember enjoying. My biggest issue isn't necessarily the price. I'll pay for good food. If you give me something that tastes fresh, has good flavor, is prepared properly, and looks reasonably close to what you advertised, I don't mind spending money on it. My problem is paying restaurant prices and getting something that leaves me wondering whether I could have gotten a similar experience from the frozen-food aisle. That's where Red Lobster lost me during this particular visit.
