In this episode, I am joined by two young entrepreneurs Paul and Nzoh, to discuss the development prospects of Africa and how young entrepreneurs can secure funds from angel investors.

We were all in agreement that Africa has a lot of potential for growth, and all young Africans must be aware of these opportunities.

Paul expressed his disappointment in the behaviour of other Africans who have succeeded , yet out of pessimism and the scarcity mentality, have been unkind to show the path to success others who are struggling to make it.

Nzoh was more bullish on the fact that Africa has always been the number 1 continent on the planet, but Africans must be capable of thinking big, in order to tap from all the blessings that God has bestowed on the continent.

He acknowledges that Cameroonians have an entrepreneurial spirit at a very small scale, though limited in many ways by policies, leadership and good management.

Who are angel investors?

An angel investor (also known as a business angel, informal investor, angel funder, private investor, or seed investor) is an individual who provides capital for a business or businesses start-up, usually in exchange for convertible debt or ownership equity. Angel investors usually give support to start-ups at the initial moments (where risks of the start-ups failing are relatively high) and when most investors are not prepared to back them. A small but increasing number of angel investors invest online through equity crowdfunding or organize themselves into angel groups or angel networks to share investment capital, as well as to provide advice to their portfolio companies.Over the last 50 years, the number of angel investors has greatly increased.

Young African entrepreneurs need to be more honest and trust worthy in order to secure startup capital and funds to grow their small businesses.
