Listen, I’m not even trying to be dramatic, but PSTA really messed up with these new changes in Pinellas County. I don’t even think most people know about them yet. I found out the hard way — literally sitting on the bus wondering why we were going in circles. Normally, I take the 34, and everything’s fine. But this time? I could tell something wasn’t right the minute we hit a stop I’d never seen before. I thought maybe the driver was just detouring, but nope — turns out the entire route’s been changed! Nobody announced anything, no notices on the bus, no flyers, no announcements online (at least not that I saw). Like, how are regular riders supposed to know what’s going on? It’s one thing to make adjustments, but this is a full-on route confusion nightmare. You got people sitting on the bus scratching their heads, missing work, and asking each other, “Wait, is this the same route?” Even the driver seemed a little unsure at first — and that’s when you know it’s bad. The worst part is, these changes aren’t minor. They’re taking people in completely different directions. I overheard one lady say she ended up miles from her usual stop, and another guy was like, “Man, I’m already late, and now I don’t even know where I am.” This is not okay. People rely on the bus system to get to work, school, doctor appointments — real life stuff — and PSTA just flipped everything upside down without proper communication.

I get it, sometimes routes need updates, but why not give people a heads-up first? Post something in the bus, put it on social media, do a little outreach — anything! Instead, we’re finding out while we’re stuck on the bus, wondering if we’ll ever make it to our stop. It’s honestly stressful. I had to take a longer ride, transfer to another bus I didn’t plan for, and ended up getting to work late — even though I left early.

How does that make sense? This whole thing has people frustrated and scared because transportation is a lifeline for so many in this county. You can’t just change routes overnight and expect everyone to magically adjust. It’s already hard enough trying to plan around traffic, delays, and inconsistent schedules — now we gotta deal with confusion on top of it? Come on, PSTA. I actually posted an audio clip in the forum if y’all want to hear exactly what I experienced that day.

I just wanted to share this because I know I’m not the only one feeling this way. If you’ve been affected by these new changes too, comment below. Maybe if enough of us speak up, they’ll fix this or at least explain what’s going on. Because right now, the whole system feels like a maze — and nobody gave us a map.
