Prayer: It's All About Discipline Grounded in Hebrews twelve, seven through eleven, New Living Translation, this devotional reclaims a word we've gotten wrong. The Greek behind God's discipline is paideia , not the language of the courtroom, but the language of a father raising a beloved child. When we confess and turn to Christ, we are already forgiven, already redeemed. What follows isn't payback, it's parenting. This devotional walks through the three faces discipline can wear, correction, instruction, and the quiet perseverance of staying the course, and asks a searching question: are we living as legitimate children, shaped by his hand, or merely claiming his name? Because discipline is never comfortable. But it is proof that we are loved, and that we belong.
