Story Transcript:

Ga: Lá breá gréine a bhí ann agus bhí beirt cairde, Aoife agus Cian, tar éis plean mór a dhéanamh.
En: It was a beautiful sunny day, and two friends, Aoife and Cian, had made a big plan.

Ga: Bhí siad chun picnic a bheith acu ag na hAillte Móra, áit a raibh radharcanna an tsaoil le feiceáil, agus éanlaith na farraige ag imirt os cionn an uisce gorm.
En: They were going to have a picnic at the Cliffs of Moher, a place with breathtaking views and sea birds playing above the blue water.

Ga: “Cian, an bhfuil tú réidh le haghaidh eachtraíochta?
En: "Cian, are you ready for an adventure?"

Ga: ” arsa Aoife agus iad ag druidim le barr na haille.
En: said Aoife as they reached the cliff's edge.

Ga: D'oscail Cian mála mór lán le bia blasta.
En: Cian opened a large bag full of delicious food.

Ga: Bhí ceapairí, úlla, agus fianáin ann, a raibh uair an chloig caite ag dul thar mar a bhí an bia á ullmhú acu.
En: There were sandwiches, apples, and cookies, prepared just the way they liked it.

Ga: Bhí gach rud feistithe go foirfe don lá speisialta seo.
En: Everything was perfect for this special day.

Ga: Chuir siad a n-éadach picnice síos ar an féar glas agus shuigh siad síos le haghaidh lón.
En: They spread out their picnic blanket on the green grass and sat down for lunch.

Ga: Bhí an ghrian ag taitneamh, na tonnta ag bualadh go réidh in aghaidh na hAillte, agus an ghaoth ag séideadh go séimh.
En: The sun was shining, the waves were crashing gently against the Cliffs, and the wind was blowing softly.

Ga: Ní fhéadfadh an lá a bheith níos foirfe.
En: The day couldn't be more perfect.

Ga: Ach an nóiméad a bhain Aoife an clúdach de na ceapairí, tháinig nead de cheannachaí mara sceimhlitheoireachta ó na flaithis.
En: But the moment Aoife removed the cover from the sandwiches, a swooping seagull thief came out of nowhere.

Ga: Bhí gliogar ina súile agus d'ionsaigh siad na ceapairí gan trócaire.
En: It had a greedy look in its eyes and attacked the sandwiches mercilessly.

Ga: “Níorbh fhéidir!
En: "No way!"

Ga: ” a scread Cian agus é ag iarraidh na héin chreachta a ruaigeadh.
En: shouted Cian, trying to shoo away the thieving birds.

Ga: Ach bhí gach uile chnapshuim ar shiúl ag na hseabhac mara sula dtiocfadh leis breathnú thart.
En: But the seagulls were all focused on the sandwiches before they could even look around.

Ga: Rinne Aoife agus Cian comhairle a dhéanamh.
En: Aoife and Cian had to make a decision.

Ga: Bhí ocras orthu agus theastaigh uathu a mbealach a dhéanamh chun taitneamh a bhaint as an lá.
En: They were hungry and wanted to make the most of the day.

Ga: “Cad a dhéanfaimid, Cian?
En: "What should we do, Cian?"

Ga: ” arsa Aoife le deora beaga ina súile ón díomá.
En: said Aoife, with disappointment in her eyes.

Ga: Cian, a bhí riamh cruthaitheach, bhí smaoineamh aige.
En: Cian, always creative, had an idea.

Ga: “Eist, tá plan agam.
En: "Listen, I have a plan.

Ga: Úsáidfimid do scairf mar líontán!
En: We'll use your scarf as a tablecloth!"

Ga: ”Ghlac Aoife an scairf geal daite as a mála agus chas sí é timpeall a lámh.
En: Aoife took the bright-colored scarf from her bag and carefully spread it around.

Ga: Ansin, chrom siad faoin éadach picnice agus d'oscail siad ceapaire eile go cúramach, ag faire go géar don spéir.
En: Then, they carefully placed the remaining sandwiches on the scarf, keeping a close eye on the sky.

Ga: Nuair a tháinig na héin anuas aríst, léim Cian suas agus chaith an scairf thar a cheann.
En: When the birds swooped down again, Cian jumped up and threw the scarf over their heads.

Ga: Le gluaiseacht ghealgháireach, rug sé cúpla ceann de na hainhithe beaga dána.
En: With a cheerful movement, he caught a few of the daring little thieves.

Ga: Thit na héin isteach sa líontán gan choinne.
En: The birds fell into the makeshift net without a fight.

Ga: “Déanaimis conradh, a éin,” arsa Cian, ag labhairt go dáiríre ach le fonn spraíúil, “tabharfaimid cuid de na úlla díbh, má fhágann sibh na ceapairí inár n-aonar!
En: "Let's make a deal, birds," said Cian, speaking seriously but with a playful tone, "we'll give you some apples, if you leave the sandwiches to us!"

Ga: ”Bhí géarghá ag na héin agus d'aontaigh siad.
En: The birds were desperate, and they agreed.

Ga: Dhein Cian a chuid magaidh leis na hainhithe, agus scaoil sé saor iad amach as an scairf.
En: Cian teased the birds a little and then set them free from the scarf.

Ga: Bhain Aoife agus Cian taitneamh as a gcuid ceapairí, gan a thuilleadh cur isteach ó na seagulls.
En: Aoife and Cian enjoyed their sandwiches, without any further interruption from the seagulls.

Ga: Bhí gáire ar gach duine againn agus an picnic á chaitheamh faoi scáth na haille.
En: Everyone was laughing, enjoying the picnic under the shadow of the cliffs.

Ga: Bhí an lá críochnaithe agus d'imigh siad abhaile, go sásta agus go socair, le cuimhní cinn ar eachtra iontach eile le chéile ag na hAillte Móra.
En: The day came to an end, and they went home, happy and content, with memories of another wonderful adventure at the Cliffs of Moher.

Ga: “Féach, Cian, is féidir linn dul i ngleic le haon rud nuair a oibríonn muid le chéile,” arsa Aoife agus tuirse ach áthas i ngach céim ar a dturas abhaile.
En: "See, Cian, we can tackle anything when we work together," said Aoife, tired but happy at every step on their journey home.
