.. I realized I have not always been so willing to put the mask on myself first, the oxygen mask on myself first. And I thought, you know, that's really silly, because I lived overseas for 12-ish years.
I was married to an airline pilot. We traveled together, and I traveled home usually two times a year, sometimes three.
So I've been on a lot of airplanes, and I have heard that message, to put the oxygen mask on yourself first, probably more than most people.And yet, and I know, like I intellectually know the metaphor.
I get it.

And still, I'm having to congratulate myself when I do say to myself, I'm getting my coffee first.
And then I'll get you your coffee.You can wait. It's okay.
It's not okay.
But I'm getting my coffee first.
