What you guys are missing, is that the Smyrna players were waving bye to the Middletown team in a very derogatory way, and that's what the amiddltown player 'reacted' to. I'm not condoning what happened on either side, but the Middletown player didn't charge toward Smyrna on a whim. Congratulate Smyrna all you want on not reacting , but they weren't the better disciplined team. That being said, there was talk that the Middletown players did the same thing to Smyrna after the first game, so Smyrna may have been paying back. Doesn't make it right in either incident, but neither team was 'innocent and disciplined in the incidents.
