The thing is that nobody said all police are bad. What was the protests were about was the systemic racial bias and policies co-signed on a local, state, and federal level. The actual message of defund the police was that monetary resources that goes to the police for militarized weapons be used for community outreach services such as mental health, poverty, and homelessness.
