Today’s topic is higher education and former New Jersey Governor Jim Florio and I are speaking with attorney Steven Weinstein who has extensive experience in both education and government relations.

He joined the New Jersey law firm of Connell Foley in April 2021 after serving as general counsel and executive vice president for government relations at Rowan University.

Steve built an outstanding team that helped New Jersey’s Rowan University become a unique major research university. His advocacy and government relations efforts helped make Rowan the 4th fastest growing public research university in the country.

Today, Governor Florio and I will talk with Steve about the higher education challenges that are facing students, as well as colleges and universities across the nation.

We’ll talk about the skyrocketing costs, how changing demographics are affecting colleges and universities, the potential entry of big tech into the higher education arena, funding, and much more.
