mostra di piùIn our culture page, we discover Mohamed Failali from Martil. Though he works as a guard in a car-park, he continues to publish books. He has written seven books in four languages since he was obliged by life pressures to leave university just to become a car-guard. His motto: we need not only bread to live!
Whoever watches him work as a car-guard in Tetouan might not believe that Mohamed Failali from Martil speaks and writes in four languages.
He gave up French literature studies in spite of him because of poverty.
He was not overcome and accepted his first job opportunity.
I have a family. I have a house. This is not fiction. This is work. I accepted a modest job and I am going on God’s willing. I encourage youth not to reject a job however modest; it may help them go far.
And not far from Tetouan, we accompanied Mohamed to his house in Martil.
Here we discover that the car-guard and the father of a small family has been a writer for a long time.
He has already written seven books.
Most of them are short stories.
He managed to print and publish four.
He writes in Arabic and Spanish and translates it into English and French.
The first book published in2009 is a Spanish novel ‘’Un Intruso Inesperado’’.
The second book ‘Salam’ appeared in 2010.
It encourages Moroccan tourism.
I wrote stories inviting people to visit Morocco as a brilliant touristic destination.
The third book ‘Omnia’ meaning ‘everything’ in Latin. As we say ‘omnipresent’.
I told my daughter Omnia ‘this is your name just to flatter her.
And without flattering, people, who knew Mohamed, insist that he deserves a better job than a car-guard.
‘If society were fair, taking his great ideas into account, he deserves a better place’
The fourth book self-published by Mohamed Failali is ‘120’ in four languages. 120 cents is the price of bread, which led this writer to seek a source of income in the noisy environment of cars. Morality: do not judge people from their appearance as you cannot guess their inner advantages.
