In this Razor Wire News episode (Oct. 10, 6:35 p.m.), hosts Fitz and Steve McShane open by describing a draining week, preview stories including “sexually transmitted diarrhea,” Bill Gates on contrails, mathematicians upset that OpenAI helped solve 722 math problems, and a broader plea to stop partisan attacking and have real public discussions. They focus on the Pentagon’s plan to livestream a December firing-squad execution of Nidal Hasan for the 2009 Fort Hood killings, debating death penalty support, risks of martyrdom, misinformation and deepfakes, and whether public executions deter crime or serve political aims. Jefe joins to rant about Gates’ contrail claims and alleged numbers, then they discuss Canada pausing assisted dying for mental illness, Plan International’s report linking climate disasters to child marriage, and other headlines including shigella rising among men who have sex with men, Peru electing a mayor named Hitler Mussolini, and major quakes in Panama and Alaska. The show also includes beer reviews, a science tangent on chemical “handedness,” and ends with subscription plugs and travel plans.
