I stumbled across Florence Knoll while doing research on new furniture for my house. Typical for me, once I realized I liked Knoll’s designs, I wanted to know more about the woman who created those designs.
And what I found blew me away. The life and times of Florence Knoll – in its most encapsulated form – is the story of a woman who was told ‘do this’, the ‘this’ being considered quote/unquote ‘womans work’ - and transforming that ‘womans work’ into a whole industry. And an assailable legacy.
