Mary Verrando Higgins, a former elite cyclist, was selected to competed in the Women's Tour de France in 1985. She was a member of the U.S. National Cycling Team. Mary Verrando Higgins works to highlight the inequalities that women face in sports and to protect women's rights. An artist all her life, Mary graduated from Ringling College of Art & Design and owned Verrandeaux Visual Communications for 21 years before she sold it to focus on her painting and fine art.
