When your child is too young to tell you about his or her day and get on the top learning apps that help working mothers stay connected to daycare or school, receiving regular updates is beneficial and reassuring. Now that your child is older, you can avoid the "What did you do at school today?" non-answers. (When I ask my son about events from his first-grade schooldays, his favorite response is "I forgot!") It's especially helpful if you don't have time to volunteer at school and aren't able to witness what's going on a daily basis.
