Levítico 4: Restauración al pecador ingenuo.

Levítico 4:27‭-‬35 RVA2015:
“Si alguno del pueblo de la tierra peca por inadvertencia, transgrediendo alguno de los mandamientos del SEÑOR respecto a cosas que no se deben hacer, es culpable. Luego que se le haga conocer el pecado que cometió, presentará como su sacrificio por su pecado cometido una cabra, una hembra sin defecto. Pondrá su mano sobre la cabeza de la víctima por el pecado y la degollará en el lugar del holocausto. El sacerdote tomará con su dedo parte de la sangre, la pondrá sobre los cuernos del altar del holocausto y derramará el resto de la sangre al pie del altar. Después le extraerá todo el sebo, como extrajo el sebo del sacrificio de paz, y el sacerdote lo hará arder sobre el altar como grato olor al SEÑOR. Así el sacerdote hará expiación por él, y será perdonado. Si trae una oveja como su sacrificio por el pecado, traerá una hembra sin defecto. Pondrá su mano sobre la cabeza de la víctima por el pecado y la degollará como sacrificio por el pecado en el lugar donde se degüella el holocausto. Después el sacerdote tomará con su dedo parte de la sangre de la víctima por el pecado, la pondrá sobre los cuernos del altar del holocausto y derramará el resto de la sangre al pie del altar. Le extraerá todo el sebo, como extrajo el sebo del cordero del sacrificio de paz, y el sacerdote lo hará arder encima del altar sobre las ofrendas quemadas para el SEÑOR. Así el sacerdote hará expiación por él, por su pecado cometido, y será perdonado.

En este capítulo podemos ver los diferentes sacrificios que se hacían cuando alguien del pueblo quebrantaba la ley de Dios inadvertidamente, o sea, sin la intención deliberada de pecar contra el Señor.
La responsabilidad mayor recaía sobre el sacerdote, pues su falta repercute sobre todo el pueblo. Es el líder espiritual y el que representaba al pueblo delante de Dios, y no podía hallarse impuro o culpable de pecado delante de Dios.
Después de él, también había un orden de sacrificio cuando todo el pueblo era hallado en falta (culpable) delante de Dios.
Otro sacrificio especial se hacía cuando algún dirigente del pueblo pecaba.
Por último, si alguien del pueblo pecaba sin saberlo y se le hacía ver su falta, debía ofrecer un holocausto específico. El procedimiento para este holocausto era el mismo, solo cambiaba la clase de animal que debería sacrificarse.

Me llama mucho la atención el proceso que se debe seguir cuando alguien es sorprendido en una falta. Muchas veces la persona no lo hace adrede. Piensa que está bien. Muchas veces lo hace por ignorancia. Pero cuando alguien que conoce la ley de Dios le hace ver su falta, el transgresor acepta su error y, entonces, comienza el proceso para recibir el perdón y reconciliación con Dios, pues en su corazón está el deseo de estar bien con Dios.
El rey David sabía lo fácil que es caer en un error sin darse cuenta, por eso le pedía al Señor que lo guarde de caer en un error que no puede ver, como dice en Salmos 19:12: “¿Quién podrá entender sus propios errores? Líbrame de los que me son ocultos.”

Hoy en día no debemos traer un animal para recibir el perdón de Dios porque Jesucristo es el sacrificio por excelencia; pero antes de aceptar a Jesucristo como nuestro sacrificio, debemos aceptar la falta, ser humildes y reconocer algún mal hábito o acción que esté en contra del Señor. Si no lo hacemos, las consecuencias las sufriremos por no querer arrepentirnos, y también afectará indirectamente a nuestra familia.
Si reconocemos nuestras faltas, Dios perdonará nuestros pecados y recibiremos bendición de lo alto.

Si ven a alguien en el error, no lo rechacen. Háganle ver con compasión y respeto su falta y guíalo de regreso al camino recto, intercediendo delante de Dios por esa persona y acompáñala en su proceso de restauración de su fe, así como nos lo enseñó el apóstol Santiago en Santiago 5:19-20: “Hermanos míos, si alguno entre ustedes es engañado, desviándose de la verdad, y otro lo hace volver, sepan que el que haga volver al pecador del error de su camino salvará su vida de la muerte y cubrirá una multitud de pecados.”

Leviticus 4: Restoration to the ingenuous sinner.

Leviticus 4:27-35:
‘If anyone of the common people sins unintentionally by doing something against any of the commandments of the Lord in anything which ought not to be done, and is guilty, or if his sin which he has committed comes to his knowledge, then he shall bring as his offering a kid of the goats, a female without blemish, for his sin which he has committed. And he shall lay his hand on the head of the sin offering, and kill the sin offering at the place of the burnt offering. Then the priest shall take some of its blood with his finger, put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and pour all the remaining blood at the base of the altar. He shall remove all its fat, as fat is removed from the sacrifice of the peace offering; and the priest shall burn it on the altar for a sweet aroma to the Lord. So the priest shall make atonement for him, and it shall be forgiven him.
‘If he brings a lamb as his sin offering, he shall bring a female without blemish. Then he shall lay his hand on the head of the sin offering, and kill it as a sin offering at the place where they kill the burnt offering. The priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and pour all the remaining blood at the base of the altar. He shall remove all its fat, as the fat of the lamb is removed from the sacrifice of the peace offering. Then the priest shall burn it on the altar, according to the offerings made by fire to the Lord. So the priest shall make atonement for his sin that he has committed, and it shall be forgiven him.

In this chapter we can see the different sacrifices that were made when one of the people inadvertently broke God's law, that is, without the deliberate intention of sinning against the Lord.
The greatest responsibility fell on the priest, since his fault affects the entire people. He is the spiritual leader and the one who represented the people before God, and could not be impure or guilty of sin before God.
After him, there was also an order of sacrifice when all the people were found in fault (guilty) before God.
Another special sacrifice was made when some leader of the people sinned.
Lastly, if any of the people sinned unknowingly and were made to see his fault, he was to offer a specific burnt offering. The procedure for this holocaust was the same, only the kind of animal that should be sacrificed changed.

I am very struck by the process that must be followed when someone is caught in a fault. Many times the person does not do it on purpose. He thinks it's okay. Many times he does it out of ignorance. But when someone who knows the law of God makes him see his fault, the transgressor accepts his mistake and, then, begins the process to receive forgiveness and reconciliation with God, because in his heart is the desire to be right with God.
King David knew how easy it is to fall into an error without realizing it, that's why he asked the Lord to keep him from falling into an error that he cannot see, as it says in Psalms 19:12: “Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults.”

Today we should not bring an animal to receive God's forgiveness because Jesus Christ is the sacrifice par excellence; but before accepting Jesus Christ as our sacrifice, we must accept the fault, be humble and recognize some bad habit or action that is against the Lord. If we do not do it, we will suffer for not wanting to repent, and also it will indirectly affect our family.
If we recognize our faults, God will forgive our sins and we will receive blessing from above.

If you see someone in error, do not reject him. Make him see his fault with compassion and respect and guide him back to the right path, interceding before God for that person and accompany him in his process of restoring his faith, just as the apostle James taught us in James 5:19-20 : “Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.”
