Levítico 16: Ruega por ti primero, después por los demás.

Levítico 16:17‭-‬22 RVA2015:
“Nadie estará en el tabernáculo de reunión cuando él entre para hacer expiación en el santuario, hasta que salga y haya hecho expiación por sí mismo, por su familia y por toda la congregación de Israel. “Después saldrá al altar que está delante del SEÑOR, y hará expiación por él. Tomará parte de la sangre del novillo y de la sangre del macho cabrío, y la pondrá sobre los cuernos del altar en su derredor. Rociará sobre él la sangre siete veces con su dedo, y lo purificará y santificará de las impurezas de los hijos de Israel. “Cuando haya acabado de hacer expiación por el santuario, por el tabernáculo de reunión y por el altar, hará acercar el macho cabrío vivo. Aarón pondrá sus dos manos sobre la cabeza del macho cabrío vivo y confesará sobre él todas las iniquidades, las rebeliones y los pecados de los hijos de Israel, poniéndolos así sobre la cabeza del macho cabrío. Luego lo enviará al desierto por medio de un hombre designado para ello. Aquel macho cabrío llevará sobre sí, a una tierra inhabitada, todas las iniquidades de ellos. El hombre encargado dejará ir el macho cabrío por el desierto.

Este capítulo explica la fiesta solemne llamada el "día de expiación'' o en hebreo Yom kippur.
Está debía celebrarse cada año y de una forma especial. Se debía presentar, entre varios sacrificios, dos carneros. Uno sería sacrificado por el pueblo y el otro sería dejado vivo, después de que el sacerdote pusiera las manos sobre él y traspasara todos los pecados del pueblo sobre el animal. Después se soltaba para que quedara libre y deambular en el desierto, en señal de que todos los pecados del pueblo eran dejados en el olvido.
De esta forma, las culpas de Israel ya no estaban sobre ellos, evitando la maldición sobre el pueblo, y más bien esas maldades quedaban en un lugar seco y desierto.

Pero quiero que detallemos el mandato al sacerdote principal. Él debía primero presentarse delante de Dios para interceder primero por él antes de interceder por los demás.
Esto es un detalle muy especial para cada uno de los que somos cabeza de hogar, pues somos los líderes espirituales de nuestras familias. Seas padre o madre soltera, o llevas la responsabilidad del hogar con tu pareja, también eres un líder, el encargado de la supervivencia y seguridad de cada miembro del hogar.
No podemos bendecirlos en el nombre de Jesucristo o clamar por la protección de Dios para cubrirlos del mal, si primero nosotros no estamos a cuenta con el Señor.
Es imprescindible que primero vengamos ante la presencia del Señor en humillación y entrega. Debemos confesar nuestros errores y pecados al Señor y encomendarnos a Él. Después sentiremos nuestros corazones llenos de la gracia de Dios, y confiados de que nuestras almas estarán cubiertas bajo la justicia de Dios.
Miremos unos ejemplos de líderes que se presentaron delante de Dios y pudieron interceder después por sus familias. Moisés intercedió por los hijos de Israel cuando Dios quería destruirlos; Josué dijo: “Mi casa y yo serviremos al Señor”; la abuela Loida y madre Eunice de Timoteo hicieron un gran trabajo espiritual guiando a Timoteo, gran predicador joven bajo el ministerio de Pablo.

Cuando entregamos nuestras vidas siendo transparentes y sinceros delante del Señor, Dios bendice de forma especial a nuestra familia cuando pedimos su bendición sobre ellos. Serás el contacto directo con Dios para ayudarlos en los momentos cuando ellos se encuentren distanciados del Señor, cuando se equivoquen o cuando el enemigo quiera atacarlos. Tú podrás guiarlos por el camino recto, dándoles palabras de sabiduría que el Señor pondrá en tu boca; podrás orar por ellos y ellos sentirán el perdón de Dios.
Toda esta autoridad y privilegios divinos los tendrás, siempre y cuando primero te santifiques delante del Señor.

Leviticus 16: Pray for yourself first, then for others.

Leviticus 16:17-22:
There shall be no man in the tabernacle of meeting when he goes in to make atonement in the Holy Place, until he comes out, that he may make atonement for himself, for his household, and for all the assembly of Israel. And he shall go out to the altar that is before the Lord, and make atonement for it, and shall take some of the blood of the bull and some of the blood of the goat, and put it on the horns of the altar all around. Then he shall sprinkle some of the blood on it with his finger seven times, cleanse it, and consecrate it from the uncleanness of the children of Israel.
“And when he has made an end of atoning for the Holy Place, the tabernacle of meeting, and the altar, he shall bring the live goat. Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, confess over it all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions, concerning all their sins, putting them on the head of the goat, and shall send it away into the wilderness by the hand of a suitable man. The goat shall bear on itself all their iniquities to an uninhabited land; and he shall release the goat in the wilderness.

This chapter explains the solemn festival called the "day of atonement" or Yom Kippur in Hebrew.
It had to be celebrated every year and in a special way. Among several sacrifices, two rams had to be presented. One would be sacrificed for the people and the another would be left alive, after the priest laid his hands on it and transferred all the sins of the people onto the animal, then it was released to be free to wander in the desert, as a sign that all the sins of the people were left in oblivion.
In this way, the faults of Israel were no longer on them, avoiding the damnation on the people, and rather those sinfulness remained in a dry and desert place.

But I want us to detail the mandate to the chief priest. He had to first appear before God to intercede first for him before interceding for others.
This is a very special detail for each of us who are heads of the families, because we are the spiritual leaders of our families. Whether you are a single father or mother, or you carry the responsibility of the home with your partner, you are also a leader, you are in charge of the survival and safety of each member of the household.
We cannot bless them in the name of Jesus Christ or cry out for God's protection to cover them from evil, if first we are not in agreement with the Lord.
It is essential that we first come before the presence of the Lord in humiliation and surrender. We must confess our mistakes and sins to the Lord and entrust ourselves to Him. Then we will feel our hearts full of God's grace, and confident that our souls will be covered under God's justice.
Let's look at some examples of leaders who stood before God and were later able to intercede for their families. Moses interceded for the children of Israel when God wanted to destroy them; Joshua said: “My house and I will serve the Lord”; Timothy's grandmother Lois and mother Eunice did a great spiritual work guiding Timothy, a great young preacher under Paul's ministry.

When we surrender our lives being transparent and sincere before the Lord, God blesses our family in a special way when we ask His blessing on them. You will be the direct contact with God to help them in the moments when they are distanced from the Lord, when they make mistakes or when the enemy wants to attack them. You will be able to guide them on the right path, giving them words of wisdom that the Lord will put in your mouth; you will be able to pray for them and they will feel God's forgiveness. All this authority and divine privileges you will have, as long as you first sanctify yourself before the Lord.
