Welcome to my Memorizing Tarot Card Audio Podcast, where I discuss strategies to learn and memorize tarot cards.  Today's episode is your three-minute lesson on the Suit of Wands.  Wands are about how you feel about something.  Your passion.  Your fire.  Your gut. Your intuition.  What are you passionate about?  What gets you motivated? What does your gut tell you to do?  That is the energy of the Suit of Wands.

Why an audio course
=================
The purpose of this audio podcast is to help reinforce key messages by audio, while you clean the house, exercise, mow your lawn, or drive great distances. There is no charge for this content, and it is intended to provide short, snappy microlearning to help you keep learning. The best way to learn tarot cards, is to keep practicing working with the cards, but the first step always is to learn the cards themselves.  This is a tool, along with any other learning you are doing.

Rider Waite Tarot Card Deck
=======================
I learned how to read cards on the Rider Waite Tarot Deck and the instructor I had said its easiest to have everyone on the same deck when explaining the symbolism. With time, I was able to transfer that knowledge to other decks. If you are a beginner at learning tarot, below are some links to the Rider Waite Tarot Deck to follow along if you need a set of cards. I earn a small referral commission from these links from Amazon.

About Carrie and @QuickLearnQuests
=============================
I have been reading tarot cards for 30 years for fun. I took a two and a half day course, and I was so excited to be able to take the mystery out of getting readings done for myself, and to be able to do them myself. We also have social media channels, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and all major podcast distributors such as Spotify, Apple, Audible and many others under the handle @quickLearnQuests. I am focusing mostly on my podcasts and YouTube at the moment, but I will expand into more social media more consistently when I find my feet.

Here is the transcript:

Welcome to the Memorizing Tarot Cards podcast, your three-minute lessons to learning and memorizing tarot using symbolism instead of "fluff". I use the Rider Waite Tarot if you listen and watch episodes with your own deck. Today, we're dissecting the suit of Wands. Let's get started. Like a deck of playing cards, there are four suits in the Tarot deck.  The suit of Wands represents situations that we approach with fire and passion. All the suits, including Wands, are a part of a set called the Minor Arcana. Each set has 14 cards. If you think of a standard set of playing cards, the Minor Arcana are similar because they have a set of Wands numbered from 1 through 10, and they also have a set of face cards called Court Cards. The numbered cards are a journey through a cycle or situation that has a start and an end. Card 1, the Ace, marks the beginning, and card 10 marks the end. Then there's everything in between. Examples of cycles that have fire and passion are starting a business, writing a book, pursuing an idea, starting a new hobby. The Court Cards consist of a king, queen, knight, and page. These cards often represent people in your life and the impact on you. They are not a continuation of the journey in the 1-10 system. Don't worry. We will talk more about these specific cards in each 3 minute episode. Next, let's talk about symbols in the Wands suit. The sprouting leaves on the Wands can symbolize the new growth and potential. The images in the background of these cards show landscapes that range from deserts to mountains. They imply going on an adventure, which may have ups and downs that may take some endurance. Or it may be a quest for self-transformation. Next, the astrology associated with the suit of Wands are the fire signs, which include Leo, Aries, and Sagittaria. Fire signs traits are themes of enthusiasm, boldness, and leadership. Now how do we apply this knowledge to a reading? If you see a spread that is full of Wands, the theme of the reading is enthusiasm, boldness and leadership. A reading with no Wands is lacking them. So how did I memorize what the suit of Wands means? It was a bit of word association. I came up with the phrase "Wands are feeling things" and “swords are thinking things” because Wands take action with feeling and swords take action with logic. It has served me well to help remember and repetition. As you listen to these 3 minute lessons, you will have the consistent reminders of symbolism that apply across different cards and themes in the deck. Thank you for listening. Join us for more 3 minute lessons to memorize more cards.
