This week on Antisemitism Watch, we lead with an FBI arrest in Los Angeles: Steven Duenas is accused of plotting a mass-casualty attack on a Jewish preschool, threatening Jewish residents with Molotov cocktails and antisemitic rhetoric. In Canada, a youth has been convicted of terrorism charges for a similar 2023 plot targeting Ottawa's Jewish community. We examine Alan Dershowitz's warning that antisemitism and anti-Zionism are becoming mainstream in the Democratic Party, alongside Prime Minister Netanyahu's accusation that Russia is using AI bots to spread antisemitism. Canada's government report includes anti-Zionism as a manifestation of antisemitism. The New York State Democratic Party has passed a resolution condemning antisemitism, and we cover campus concerns at Rutgers and the University of Pittsburgh. We also look at reports of vandalism at a Paris synagogue amidst national unrest, and the broader security threats facing Jewish communities abroad. Keywords: Antisemitism, FBI, Jewish preschool, terror plot, Ottawa, Alan Dershowitz, Democratic Party, antisemitism, Russia, AI bots, Canada, anti-Zionism, IHRA, New York, Paris synagogue, hate crime, campus antisemitism, international incidents, institutional response.
