Language loss is a serious problem: thousands of languages are vanishing without a trace, as well as traditional knowledge and cultural heritage that are imbedded in them. Through a mini-essay that will be handled to Italian higher secondary school students they will discover the deep connection between languages and environment. The aim of this work is to raise awareness of the importance of speaking our mother tongues and protecting natural biodiversity: we should be proud of who we are, the languages we speak and the places we come from.
