COURT TV DEBUTS NEW DAILY SERIES OPENING STATEMENTS WITH JULIE GRANT

Court TV, the popular multi-platform network devoted to live courtroom coverage, expert analysis and in-depth legal reporting on the nation's most compelling trials and true crime stories, announced the debut of Opening Statements with Julie Grant, premiering on Monday, Sept. 11 and airing weekdays from 8-9am ET.

Joined by a team of top trial attorneys, investigators and forensic experts, Court TV anchor Julie Grant will guide viewers through the high-stakes trials that are on the docket each day, recapping the latest details and spotlighting every twist and turn dominating the headlines across the nation. "Our viewers already recognize Julie as a leading voice on the most important and complex legal news of the day, making her the perfect person to kick off our daily trial coverage," said Ethan Nelson, head of Court TV. "With Opening Statements, Court TV viewers have yet another reliable source of information on trials that are often anything but straightforward. The show joins Closing Arguments with Vinnie Politan in the evening as perfect bookends to our peerless trial and true crime coverage."

Grant has brought a powerful blend of journalism experience and legal expertise to Court TV since the network relaunched in 2019. The licensed attorney, former prosecutor and trial expert earned her J.D. from the University of Akron School of Law and her LL.M. in trial advocacy with Honors from Temple University School of Law. While serving as an assistant district attorney in Allegheny County, Pa., Grant tried numerous felony and misdemeanor cases before both judges and juries. Her Court TV colleagues call her "The Professor," as she has also taught in Temple's highly regarded LL.M. program and has taught for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy.
"My goal is to give our loyal viewers something special as soon as they wake up," said Grant. Opening Statements with Julie Grant will lead into the network's Court TV LIVE trial coverage at 9am ET. The new show continues the notable growth at the network, which earlier this summer launched Court TV: Legendary Trials, a free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channel that features the nation's most high-profile cases over the past 30 years, curated from the massive Court TV trial archive.
