Pilot Julia Harrington is living the life her 8-year self dreamed of.
Saying “why not?” instead of “why me?” helped her land a unicorn corporate pilot
gig, buy an airplane, and recently fly her first aerobatic contest.
Julia’s passion for aviation began at a young age when her dad took her the world’s
biggest aviation celebration, EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Once she discovered she could make flying her life, she never looked back.
Julia has been fascinated with aerobatics since seeing her first airshow and has been a member of the IAC (International Aerobatic Club) since age 12. Until she just recently bought her own aerobatic airplane, she scratched her aerobic itch over the years by flying with mentor and airshow legend Patty Wagstaff.
Julia is force of nature on the National Business Aviation Association’s Young
Professionals Council and is on the Board of Directors for the Chicago chapter of
Women in Aviation International.
She documents her adventures as a corporate and aerobatic pilot on her YouTube
channel, website, blog, and on Instagram as Pilot Julia.
