He was born into slavery but by the time of his death in 1905, he would become a legend of the Canadian West and one of the most respected men Calgary has ever seen.  This is the story of a man named John Ware, whose exploits border on tall tale, but who was a living breathing man who helped shape the Alberta ranching lifestyle.
