Today we have on the show Dr. Michael Pariser.
Dr. Pariser is a psychotherapist and has been practicing in L. A. for over 20 years. He is a certified psychoanalyst who practices from a Contemporary Relational model. He is the author of "No More Mr. Nice Guy: The Hero's Journey - A Step-by-Step Guide to Becoming an Integrated Male".
This book is both a companion to Dr. Robert Glover’s No More Mr. Nice Guy and a stand-alone manual, that takes the reader on a step-by-step journey of masculine self-discovery. This book provides a practical and emotional understanding of the problems that many “Nice Guys” face, and it lays out a series of easy-to-follow exercises for overcoming those issues.
Dr. Pariser uses deep focus psychotherapy that gets directly to the root of problems, rather than focusing on relieving short term symptoms which will only come back again.
On this conversation with Dr. Pariser, we spoke about masculinity, the hero’s journey, masculine transformation and how to heal from “nice guy syndrome”.
