Elee Joven’s journey has taken her across cultures, countries, careers, and generations. Born in Guam and raised with Filipino heritage, Elee grew up navigating different languages, traditions, and communities. After becoming a mother at 18, traveling to more than 30 countries, and building a career around cultural intelligence and AI strategy, she has learned how understanding differences can become a powerful strength.
On this episode of The Tiberius Show, Elee talks with Tiberius about cultural intelligence, identity, travel, parenting, resilience, artificial intelligence, and the importance of maintaining human connection in an increasingly digital world.
She explains what cultural intelligence really means, why it goes far beyond food and language, and how understanding the “why” behind people's behavior can reduce misunderstandings and conflict. Elee also shares her experiences growing up between Guam and the Philippines, becoming a young mother, embracing her cultural identity, and learning to be proud of where she comes from.
Elee and Tiberius also explore how AI can be used as a tool without replacing human relationships, why families should set boundaries around technology, and why kids can develop cultural intelligence by simply becoming more aware of the diverse people around them.
Plus, Elee joins Tiberius for Math Corners to solve an international festival problem and shares her thoughts on why humans still need to check AI-generated translations for tone, meaning, and cultural context.
