Today's podcast features John Szoka, former state representative, and Jackie Taylor, former chair of the Cumberland County Republican Party, discussing their involvement with the Independent Conservative Alliance (ICA), a Political Action Committee (PAC). They explain that the ICA, composed of five experienced conservative Republicans, aims to support local candidates with conservative beliefs in Cumberland County elections. They detail their candidate endorsement process, emphasizing transparency, fairness, and the importance of a candidate's potential to win. The conversation covers why they include unaffiliated candidates and not Democrats, the significance of having well-rounded candidates, and the strategic use of campaign resources like digital ads and mailers. The discussion also highlights their commitment to educating candidates and maintaining open communication while clarifying their independence from the GOP.
