Ep 126
YEAH! Welcome back to #theUSApodcast
With Super Tuesday quickly approaching, many Americans have their minds set on who they want their presidential pick to be; oftentimes neglecting the other local issues and races on the ballot that are just as important, if not more important, than selecting a presidential nominee. For LA County Residents, one of those important local races will be who will be sitting on the judicial bench for the largest county in The United States. In this episode, we speak to Troy Slaten who is running for judge in LA County seat 145. We speak with Troy about the significance of electing judges, his feelings on criminal justice reform and what he plans to do for LA if he is elected. Follow him on Twitter @troyslaten
Also, in our second segment we speak about the issues that are surrounding the Democratic Primary including changing the rules of the debates to allow Micheal Bloomberg to join the debates. Is it fair to allow Michael Bloomberg to jump in with all of his money? Also, what will be on the ballot other than presidential primary candidates on Super Tuesday? This includes Prop 13. We go into depth what CA State Measure 13 means and what it can mean for California schools.
In the 3rd segment we talk about how medicare for all is starting to spill over the border. With healthcare being one of the biggest topics in the election, many are wondering if Medicare for all passes, will it be extended to undocumented citizens? Does healthcare is a right mean it’s a right for everyone or only US Citizens? Mike breaks it down!!
