It wouldn’t be Halloween without trick-or-treating, a tradition that goes back centuries but became super popular with the proliferation of mass produced candy.

As more folks got into the festivities, so did parent’s anxieties over their kids' candy being poisoned by wicked strangers.

But for all the fear mongering out there, over the past hundred years there have only been a handful of cases involving kids being hurt or killed by tainted treats, and it was usually the kid’s own parents who did the dastardly deed.
