The Genessa J. Santiago Foundation is a Non-Profit 501c3 organization.

It was created in memory of our daughter Genessa who tragically passed away on May 3, 2014. We lovingly called her Nessa.

Through our pain we decided to create The Genessa J. Santiago Foundation. Our desire has and will always be to keep Nessa’s legacy alive. We were not sure where to begin or even the processes to take. All we knew, was that we wanted to honor our daughter and, in the process, help our youth. After much thought we decided to begin with honoring high school students with a yearly scholarship to attend a college/university of their choice.

We know that our daughter was not able to achieve her dreams on this earth, however, through this foundation we are helping young students achieve their educational dreams.

In September of 2014, we started our endeavors at the high school Nessa attended, Calvary Christian Academy, located in Philadelphia, PA. In May of 2015 we granted our first Genessa J Santiago Foundation Scholarship. It was awarded to 2 high school seniors. Since then, we have been able to grant a scholarship annually to 2 well deserving students.

Our dreams are to expand and help many young adults achieve their dreams and aspirations. We will continue to work very hard and look for ways to achieve this.

Nessa was always helping others and we wanted to keep the same mantra, “To love unselfishly, judge no one and help as many young adults that we can”. Through keeping our daughter’s legacy alive we will change many lives. One Student at a time.

These efforts have been accomplished with great support from our community, family and friend.
