Génesis 37: Actitudes que destruyen la unidad familiar.

Génesis 37:1‭-‬11 RVA2015:
Jacob se estableció en la tierra donde había residido su padre, en la tierra de Canaán. Esta es la historia de la familia de Jacob: José, siendo de diecisiete años, apacentaba las ovejas con sus hermanos; y el joven estaba con los hijos de Bilha y los hijos de Zilpa, mujeres de su padre. Y José informaba a su padre de la mala fama de ellos. Israel amaba a José más que a todos sus otros hijos porque le había nacido en la vejez, y le hizo una túnica de diversos colores. Al ver sus hermanos que su padre lo amaba más que a todos ellos, lo aborrecían y no podían hablarle pacíficamente. José tuvo un sueño y lo contó a sus hermanos, quienes llegaron a aborrecerlo todavía más. Les dijo: —Por favor, escuchen lo que he soñado: He aquí que atábamos gavillas en medio del campo. Y mi gavilla se levantaba y se mantenía erguida, mientras que sus gavillas la rodeaban y se inclinaban ante la mía. Sus hermanos le respondieron: —¿Has de reinar tú sobre nosotros y nos has de dominar? Y lo aborrecieron todavía más a causa de sus sueños y de sus palabras. Entonces tuvo otro sueño y lo contó a sus hermanos, diciendo: —He aquí, he tenido otro sueño: el sol, la luna y once estrellas se inclinaban ante mí. Él contó este sueño a su padre y a sus hermanos, pero su padre lo reprendió diciendo: —¿Qué sueño es este que has tenido? ¿Hemos de venir yo, tu madre y tus hermanos a postrarnos a tierra ante ti? Sus hermanos le tenían envidia, pero su padre guardaba en mente el asunto.


Vamos a comenzar a estudiar uno de los eventos bíblicos más emotivos, conmovedores y extraordinarios .
La vida de Jacob está ligada a la vida de sus hijos; especialmente la vida de José, uno de sus hijos menores y el que más quería por ser hijo de su amada Raquel.
Esto provocó fricción entre sus hermanos mayores, pero lo que provocó que sus hermanos albergaran resentimiento y envidia hacia él fue el don de sueños que Dios estaba desarrollando en José.
Los sueños que tuvo insinuaban que José sería alguien con una posición superior sobre sus hermanos y su padre, y esto los exasperó al punto de que buscaron la oportunidad para hacerle daño.
José estaba muy emocionado por todas esas visiones y, al parecer, también estaba produciendo en él una actitud de altivez. Tal vez por ser tan joven le faltó mucha prudencia al compartir estos sueños. Tal vez hablaba con mucha petulancia, sintiéndose superior por esas visiones.

Vamos a aprender en los próximos días el proceso de formación y madurez espiritual que toda la familia de Jacob debían pasar.
Por ser la familia escogida por Dios para continuar con la herencia de Abraham de ser bendición para todas las naciones, Dios los iba a moldear conforme a Su propósito divino.

Hoy meditemos en los errores que como familia estaban haciendo equivocadamente. Jacob no debía haber demostrado tanta preferencia por José. También la actitud imprudente de José no le ayudó a mejorar su relación con sus hermanos, pues no le importaba tanto porque él sabía que era el preferido de su padre. Y por último, en la reacción maligna de sus hermanos mayores; en vez de ser tolerantes con el joven José, dejaron que el veneno de la envidia creciera en ellos y cometieron acciones malvadas contra su hermano sin pensar en el bienestar de su padre anciano.

Espero que el Señor te guíe para descubrir esas actitudes que pueden ocasionar grietas en las relaciones entre hermanos.
De todas maneras no olvidemos que Dios es un Dios soberano, y va a tornar esos errores para bien.

Escudriñemos:
Utiliza el método llamado VISUALÍZALO. Reflexiona en la forma en que los hermanos de José recibieron esos sueños, cómo se atrevieron a maltratar a José y cómo tuvieron que inventar un plan para engañar a su padre.

Genesis 37: Attitudes that destroy the family unit.

Genesis 37:1-11 NKJV:
Now Jacob dwelt in the land where his father was a stranger, in the land of Canaan. This is the history of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brothers. And the lad was with the sons of Bilhah and the sons of Zilpah, his father’s wives; and Joseph brought a bad report of them to his father. Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age. Also he made him a tunic of many colors. But when his brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, they hated him and could not speak peaceably to him. Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers; and they hated him even more. So he said to them, “Please hear this dream which I have dreamed: There we were, binding sheaves in the field. Then behold, my sheaf arose and also stood upright; and indeed your sheaves stood all around and bowed down to my sheaf.” And his brothers said to him, “Shall you indeed reign over us? Or shall you indeed have dominion over us?” So they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words. Then he dreamed still another dream and told it to his brothers, and said, “Look, I have dreamed another dream. And this time, the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars bowed down to me.” So he told it to his father and his brothers; and his father rebuked him and said to him, “What is this dream that you have dreamed? Shall your mother and I and your brothers indeed come to bow down to the earth before you?” And his brothers envied him, but his father kept the matter in mind.


We are going to begin to study one of the most emotional, moving and extraordinary biblical events.
Jacob's life is linked to the lives of his children; especially the life of Joseph, one of his youngest children and the one he loved the most because he was the son of his beloved Rachel.
This caused friction between his older brothers, but what caused his brothers to harbor resentment and envy towards him was the gift of dreams that God was developing in Joseph.
The dreams that he had hinted that Joseph would be someone in a superior position over his brothers and his father, and this exasperated them to the point that they looked for an opportunity to harm him.
Joseph was very excited about all these visions and it seemed to be producing a haughty attitude in him as well. Perhaps because he was so young, he lacked much prudence in sharing these dreams. Perhaps he spoke very petulantly, feeling superior because of those visions.

We are going to learn in the next few days the process of formation and spiritual maturity that all of Jacob's family had to go through.
As the family chosen by God to continue Abraham's inheritance of being a blessing to all nations, God was going to shape them according to His divine purpose.
Today let's meditate on the mistakes that as a family they were making wrongly. Jacob should not have shown so much preference for Joseph. Also, Joseph's reckless attitude did not help him improve his relationship with his brothers, because he did not care so much because he knew that he was his father's favorite. And finally, in the malignant reaction of his older brothers; instead of being tolerant of young Joseph, they let the poison of envy grow in them and committed evil deeds against their brother without thinking of their elderly father's welfare.

I hope that the Lord guides you to discover those attitudes that can cause cracks in relationships between brothers and sisters.
In any case, let's not forget that God is a sovereign God, and He is going to turn those mistakes for good.

Let's scrutinize:
Uses the method called VISUALIZE IT. Reflect on how Joseph's brothers received those dreams, how they dared to mistreat Joseph, and how they had to come up with a plan to deceive their father.
