Génesis 13: Regresa al lugar donde comenzaste.

Hoy leeremos el capítulo completo de Génesis 13:
Abram subió de Egipto hacia el Néguev, él con su mujer y con todo lo que tenía; y Lot iba con él. Abram era muy rico en ganado, en plata y en oro. Volvió a sus viajes desde el Néguev hacia Betel, hasta el lugar donde su tienda había estado al comienzo, entre Betel y Hai, el lugar del altar que había hecho allí anteriormente. Y Abram invocó allí el nombre del SEÑOR.
También Lot, que iba con Abram, tenía ovejas, vacas y tiendas. Pero la tierra no bastaba para que habitaran juntos. Sus posesiones eran muchas, y no podían habitar juntos. Entonces surgió una contienda entre los pastores del ganado de Abram y los pastores del ganado de Lot. En aquel entonces los cananeos y los ferezeos habitaban en la tierra.
Entonces Abram dijo a Lot: “Por favor, no haya contiendas entre tú y yo ni entre mis pastores y tus pastores, porque somos parientes. ¿No está delante de ti toda la tierra? Sepárate, pues, de mí. Si tú vas a la izquierda, yo iré a la derecha; y si tú vas a la derecha, yo iré a la izquierda”.
Lot alzó los ojos y vio toda la llanura del Jordán, la cual era toda tierra de regadío, como un jardín del SEÑOR, como la tierra de Egipto, como la entrada de Zoar, antes de que el SEÑOR destruyera Sodoma y Gomorra. Lot eligió para sí toda la llanura del Jordán, y partió Lot hacia el oriente. Así se separaron el uno del otro.
Abram habitó en la tierra de Canaán, y Lot habitó en las ciudades de la llanura y fue instalando sus tiendas hasta Sodoma. Los hombres de Sodoma eran malos y muy pecadores contra el SEÑOR.
El SEÑOR dijo a Abram, después que Lot se había separado de él: “Alza tus ojos y mira desde el lugar donde estás, hacia el norte, el sur, el este y el oeste. Porque toda la tierra que ves te la daré a ti y a tu descendencia, para siempre. Yo haré que tu descendencia sea como el polvo de la tierra. Si alguien puede contar el polvo de la tierra, también tu descendencia podrá ser contada. Levántate, anda a lo largo y a lo ancho de la tierra, porque a ti te la daré”.
Entonces Abram trasladó su tienda, se fue y moró en el encinar de Mamre, que está en Hebrón, y allí edificó un altar al SEÑOR.

Aquí vemos varios eventos en la vida de Abram. Meditemos hoy en la acción de Abram después del susto que vivió en Egipto. Inmediatamente Abram retomó el camino que Dios le estaba mostrando. Ya Dios le dijo que habitara en la tierra de Canaán, la cual le prometió darle. Pero, por un momento de debilidad y temor, fue a Egipto. Al ver la mano de Dios protegiéndolo, Abram decidió regresar donde había comenzado su travesía por el territorio cananeo. En una actitud de arrepentimiento, Abram sintió en su corazón volver a la tierra donde Dios le comenzó a hablar. Él quiso volver a conectarse con el Señor, quiso retomar el propósito por el cual Dios lo llamó y lo escogió; él no quería perder lo que Dios le prometió a él y su descendencia. Abram deseaba restaurar su relación con el Señor; y lo hizo de la forma correcta. Abram sabía que la manera de agradar a Dios es ofreciendo una ofrenda voluntaria, haciendo un sacrificio al Señor, un holocausto para honrar al Señor para demostrarle que Él era, es y será su Dios por toda su vida.
Poco después de ese momento, Abram enfrentó otro problema, esta vez con su sobrino Lot. Abram decidió continuar creyéndole a Dios y se localizó en la tierra de Canaán. En este caso, Abram quedó solo y Dios volvió a hablar con Abram, confirmándole que le daría esa tierra donde él estaba. Dios lo animó a seguir recorriendo la tierra como señal de posesión, aunque todavía era un forastero.

Si por alguna razón has perdido o pierdes el curso de tu caminar con Dios, no olvides que siempre hay oportunidad para la reconciliación. Recuerda cómo y dónde empezaste este recorrido; no olvides tus comienzos. Es hermoso ver a un hombre o mujer de Dios regresar a la iglesia después de una temporada difícil de su vida. Es maravilloso ver a alguien siendo lleno del Espíritu Santo después de muchos meses o años de no sentir esta experiencia sobrenatural. Es indescriptible ver a un hermano o hermana regresar con toda su familia, con sus hijos al redil del Señor y escucharlos decir: “Mi casa y yo serviremos una vez más al Señor”.

Escudriñemos: Utiliza el método llamado VISUALÍZALO para que puedas ver el momento cuando Abram vio de nuevo el lugar donde había elevado un altar al Señor. Trata de sentir la experiencia que habría sentido Abram cuando volvió a ofrecer sacrificio al Señor.

Genesis 13: Return to the place where you started.

Today we will read the entire chapter of Genesis 13 (NLT):
So Abram left Egypt and traveled north into the Negev, along with his wife and Lot and all that they owned. (Abram was very rich in livestock, silver, and gold.) From the Negev, they continued traveling by stages toward Bethel, and they pitched their tents between Bethel and Ai, where they had camped before. This was the same place where Abram had built the altar, and there he worshiped the Lord again.
Lot, who was traveling with Abram, had also become very wealthy with flocks of sheep and goats, herds of cattle, and many tents. But the land could not support both Abram and Lot with all their flocks and herds living so close together. So disputes broke out between the herdsmen of Abram and Lot. (At that time Canaanites and Perizzites were also living in the land.)
Finally Abram said to Lot, “Let’s not allow this conflict to come between us or our herdsmen. After all, we are close relatives! The whole countryside is open to you. Take your choice of any section of the land you want, and we will separate. If you want the land to the left, then I’ll take the land on the right. If you prefer the land on the right, then I’ll go to the left.”
Lot took a long look at the fertile plains of the Jordan Valley in the direction of Zoar. The whole area was well watered everywhere, like the garden of the Lord or the beautiful land of Egypt. (This was before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.) Lot chose for himself the whole Jordan Valley to the east of them. He went there with his flocks and servants and parted company with his uncle Abram. So Abram settled in the land of Canaan, and Lot moved his tents to a place near Sodom and settled among the cities of the plain. But the people of this area were extremely wicked and constantly sinned against the Lord.
After Lot had gone, the Lord said to Abram, “Look as far as you can see in every direction—north and south, east and west. I am giving all this land, as far as you can see, to you and your descendants as a permanent possession. And I will give you so many descendants that, like the dust of the earth, they cannot be counted! Go and walk through the land in every direction, for I am giving it to you.”
So Abram moved his camp to Hebron and settled near the oak grove belonging to Mamre. There he built another altar to the Lord.


Here we see several events in Abram's life. Today let us meditate on Abram's action after the scare he experienced in Egypt. Abram immediately returned to the path that God was showing him. God already told him to live in the land of Canaan, which He promised to give him. But, for a moment of weakness and fear, he went to Egypt. Seeing the hand of God protecting him, Abram decided to return to where he had begun his journey through Canaanite territory. In an attitude of repentance, Abram felt in his heart to return to the land where God began to speak to him. He wanted to reconnect with the Lord, he wanted to return to the purpose for which God called him and chose him; he did not want to lose what God promised him and his offspring. Abram wanted to restore his relationship with the Lord; and he did it the right way. Abram knew that the way to please God is by offering a voluntary offering, making a sacrifice to the Lord; a burnt offering to honor the Lord to show Him that He was, is and will be his God for his entire life.
Shortly after that moment, Abram faced another problem, this time with his nephew Lot. Abram decided to continue believing in God and located himself in the land of Canaan. In this case, Abram was left alone and God spoke to Abram again, confirming that he would give him the land where he was. God encouraged him to continue roaming the earth as a sign of possession, even though he was still an outsider.

If for some reason you have lost or lose the course of your walk with God, do not forget that there is always an opportunity for reconciliation. Remember how and where you started this journey; don't forget your beginnings. It is beautiful to see a man or woman of God return to church after a difficult time in their life. It is wonderful to see someone being filled with the Holy Spirit after many months or years of not having this supernatural experience. It is indescribable to see a brother or sister return with their whole family, with their children to the Lord's fold and hear them say: "My house and I will once again serve the Lord."

Let's scrutinize: Use the method called VISUALIZE IT so that you can see the moment when Abram saw again the place where he had built an altar to the Lord. Try to feel the experience that Abram would have felt when he returned to offer sacrifice to the Lord.
