Fifty years ago this month, four events occurred in the history of Doctor Who- the first appearance of the Cybermen in the story “The Tenth Planet;” William Hartnell’s final regular appearance in the role of the Doctor; the change of actors, and how it was approached; and the first appearance of Patrick Troughton in the role of the Doctor.
