Jess Byard June nears its conclusion with one of the Friday the 13th films that cares less about continuity and canon and more about delivering exploitation thrills and gore: Friday the 13th: A New Beginning. The film follows Tommy Jarvis, the boy who killed Jason Voorhees in the previous entry, now a troubled young man haunted by visions that Jason may still be alive. Those visions follow him to a camp-like halfway house where carnage and chaos seemingly wake the silent killer once more. It's an interesting entry in a franchise not known for taking risks, with some of those risks paying off and others falling completely flat. We talk fake Jason, the film's use of nudity, and where it stands in the overall franchise.

Award-winning screenwriter and namesake of the month Jess Byard joins Chris Stachiw, the Doctor of Podcasting, to talk A New Beginning, fake Jason, the franchise, and so much more.
