hi guys welcome to the sing tone Factory so we're really focusing on sink tones for the foreseeable Futures we set up this sort of new um the new kind of I wouldn't say it's a new career because I've been doing it a long time but it's kind of an a new arm or a new web strand do you know what I mean and I think as musicians we all know these days that you're never going to make any money from streaming um you're going to have to do lots and lots and lots of different things if you want to you know make any kind of a living and it's really annoying but it's the way it's just the way of the world isn't it the streaming companies get all your money we get you know really scraps on the floor and all musicians know that but the good thing about being a musician is we really love doing it so you know it's kind of well is it work it isn't for me really um so yeah I'm just setting up the sing tone Factory side of things and that's we're building up on the old YouTube stuff and I'm making little videos to promote promo it and all these different things and you can buy them on the iPad um I don't know what I haven't actually I did go into it today and you have to sign up so you have to sign up like 4.99 uh but I think that's a month um if it was a year I'd buy it I think that's a month and they'll give you a three-day trial so I might go and do the trial in a minute so that I can tell you about it tomorrow but that's I'm with tunecore and they're collecting the royalties for me so you know it does mean that you're there in The Ether with your copywritten work which is something I guess that's important to us isn't it and what you don't want is uh somebody copying your style or your you know your vocal you don't want an AI copying your vocal I don't I can't see AI quite taking over my vocals because they're so all over the place because I'm not a trend singer for a start I mean an AI would at least be consistent but I'm never I'm not consistent um so what do I do today let me have a look at what I've got in front of me so I used um one Loop just one Loop and it was really haunting with this sort of kind of Baseline and a D pad you know like a pad sound of rising pad sounding but it was very pale I call it pale of course you can't see it but it sounded pale you know it was just it was as the all the pads do they when you see some like piano and Pad it's a kind of Misty sensory audio rather than something you can pinpoint and I thought that's nice then I did two vocals um I did one book I couldn't decide whether to go with the vocal chorus or the go the vocal flange a 60s stuff you know I always use those I really like them um so I just saw oh bloggers I'll just copy paste and do both plugins so I end up with two variations of the same vocal and it sounded really whispery and I really liked that because the thing with using a lot of processes is you know sometimes I want to sound like a robot of course I do you know I'm all about the AI and the robots with music you know I am but um I also really like to sound like I'm doing a live gig so you know there's always this sort of balance really between the two I mean really what I want to sound like is an Android doing a live performance and an Android with human elements you know human fragility my speaking to my daughter earlier she said something about human fragility you know we're all going to realize the beauty of it and I really I really thought God she's so well brought up you know because that's that's so true and so human fragility is absolutely perfect so I always want my robots to sound a little bit you know sort of helpless because I want to get that fragility across and I've achieved it with this so towards the end it's quite breathy um and I left the breathing in I've talked quite a bit actually in other broadcasts about you know the decision to leave the breathing in or check it out um it's it's up to you and it means so many different things you know to different people um and then I just did a little backing just with a bright vocal it's just a slight Echo but I put the echo through a chorus as well and it made it sound quite kind of a little bit tinny it's a little bit telephonic so I really like that so yeah basically one Loop and three vocal recordings and I think you end up with something this is done on logic pro guys if you didn't know that that's what I use I always use logic pro I've tried some others but I haven't for various reasons got on with them but um I'm sure you can I mean you can do three vocal recordings on any software and you could do it on GarageBand and it'll be free so that's not an issue anyway should I shut up let's just let's just play it and let me get it up hang on a minute and okay baby's coming out to play by um I server land so this is uh just me today enjoy it's free to use remember free to use with personal use remember but I still learn the copyright of course
