mostra di piùAfter defeating the Netherlands in the Olympic quarter-final on Friday, the U.S. will now turn its attention to Monday’s semi-final against regional rival Canada.
The U.S. has been dominant against the Canadians in recent years, as Canada has not won against the Americans since 2001.
In NWSL news, the league announced that it has reached a settlement with Portland Thorns teenager Olivia Moultrie that will allow her to continue playing in the league.
Moultrie, who is 15, sued the league in May for the right to play, arguing that the NWSL’s rule preventing players under 18 from signing contracts violated antitrust laws.
A judge initially ruled in Moultrie’s favor in June, allowing her to sign a three-year contract with the Thorns. She made her NWSL debut in July, becoming the youngest player in league history.
