But as a researcher, I also know that the beach can have a dramatic affect on your health and well-being; and can have a profound impact on your brain and mental health.

Laura Fleming of the University of Exeter in England says the idea that the beach Helps your health is well-established. Beginning in the 18th century doctors used to prescribe trip to the beach to visit “bathing hospitals". These bathing hospitals were especially designed clinics that provided seawater bath treatments.
What Fleming found in the research was that scientists have only started looking at the ocean's health benefits in recent times. The University of Exeter found in 2012, that simply living within close proximity to a beach improves one's health and well-being.
