At the end of this year, the MHSAA will lose another pillar of its longtime leadership as John Johnson, the first communications director and now broadcasting director, will be retiring! This comes just 2 years after the man that hired him back in 1987, Jack Roberts, decided to pass the reins off to Mark Uyl as the executive director of the statewide association. In this episode, we talk about the uniqueness and importance of high school sports and how things have evolved over the years in the state of Michigan, and also, what are the challenges moving forward to keep high school sports viable and a true life lesson opportunity for so many student-athletes and coaches!
