Faith Facing Temptation continues with the threat of an enemy who stands at the gates of Jerusalem. The Lord said "I will defend this city to save it for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake." Judah facing Sennacherib brings this promise to the forefront. This is part 95 of Isaiah's Prophetic book. We continue on with this portion as we follow the threats, the convincing lies of the enemy, and the real human temptation facing those inside the walls of Jerusalem. It is here that the covenant of Yahweh stands true, but in this; there is also Faith which requires a people to believe that the God of Gods will back up what he has promised. Both houses of Israel have had troubles being faithful, yet under Hezekiah; the House of Judah is being renewed. Here the threat meets rescue; and everyone involved will know who is in charge when this is over.

Faith Facing Temptation is when you realize that which is threatening you stands at the door. Their #armies at the #gates of the city, the #standards of the #enemy are posted all around the perimeter. The enemy whispers to you. There is no escape, or that is what they want you to think. Do not trust in your God. Do not listen to those who believe the #LordGod will be your #deliverer. Listen to fear, listen to the enemy, and do as he is saying. But #Hezekiah the good king gave a commandment to those meeting face to face with the enemy. After the enemy tells you the offer of surrender, answer him not a word. This the messengers did. As #Rabshakeh leaves to go to #Sennacherib, the #Word of the #Lord through #Isaiah gave the message to the King. This was after Isaiah and the King both making petitions to the Lord. It was a real threat, with real lives at stake; and #Jerusalem was to be taken over by the enemy. However, on this occasion it was the enemy who met with defeat. #Faith #Facing #Temptation brings us to the truth of any situation with our enemy; we make no deals, carry no truce, and stand in the #WordofGod for the only outcome we need.
