As of November 7, 2024, Lake Texoma is offering some excellent fishing opportunities. The lake's elevation is currently 1.84 feet below pool, and the water is stained with a temperature of 66 degrees.

For those planning to head out, sunrise was at around 6:45 AM, and sunset will be at approximately 5:15 PM. The weather has been relatively stable, but keep an eye out for any changes as the fall season progresses.

Striper fishing has been excellent, with anglers reporting great success using live shad and swimbaits. Early morning topwater fishing along rocky banks is yielding bigger fish, while live bait in 30-40 feet of water along main lake ledges and humps near flats is catching good numbers. Keep an eye out for gulls working active schools of fish; using swim baits and live bait below these birds can be very effective.

Catfish are also biting well, particularly on cut shad and prepared baits. Drifting 40-50 feet of water along flats is producing big blues, and smaller fish are being caught on ledges in 20-30 feet of water.

Crappie fishing is fair, with boat houses being a good spot using minnows and small shad. Jigs are inconsistent but starting to show some activity on electronics in 8-12 feet of water.

For largemouth and smallmouth bass, the fishing is a bit slower, but using live shad along the south end of the lake, targeting large boulders, and swimbaits in rocky coves can still land some smaller catches.

Hot spots include the main lake ledges and humps near flats, as well as the rocky banks and coves. The area around the boathouses and timber structures is also worth exploring for crappie.

Overall, Lake Texoma is in great shape for fishing right now, so grab your gear and get out there to take advantage of the active fish schools and favorable conditions.
