In this, the third and final part of “Evacuees” the children have to leave their temporary home at Bletchingdon Park after the death of their benefactor, Sir Abe Bailey. They are billeted to a lady in the village.
Now I would stress that the vast majority of people who took in evacuee children were kind, loving people with a heart of gold. However, there were some, just a few who were, shall we say, not so kind, and our children were unfortunate to be billeted with one such as that.
All ends well though, and the children eventually return to London to be reunited with their parents.
