One thing that has become increasingly clear is that racism has a demonstrated impact on health outcomes. It's also become apparent that structural racism is not only built into the wiring of our healthcare systems' walls, but into many other institutions as well, including education, public safety, housing, criminal justice and others. Knowing that racism and racial trauma impacts the health of our patients, how do we talk about it with them? How do we have conversations about race in the exam room? Join guest host James Burroughs, VP and Chief Equity and Inclusion Officer, as he talks with Dr. Brooke Cunningham, Internist, Sociologist and Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota, about her research looking at clinician engagement around issues of race, racism and racial disparities in health.
