As some of you know, I recently had an absolutely life changing experience down in Austin for South By Southwest 2019. I got the privilege of officially covering the event for iHeartRadio and SXSW itself, and I am SO excited to get my documentary out to y'all soon!
Until then, I decided that a recap more from my perspective as an acting member of the press who is actually a superfan would be a great way to offer some context on how all of this craziness played out while also giving you a taste of the content that will be featured in my movie!
In part 1, I offer an introduction to what SXSW is as a whole, how it works, who it caters to, and why you should make the trip before diving into my first 3 days of events which included:
- LG's Inspiration Gallery,
- A Lecture from Buzzfeed's CEO Jonah Paretti,
-ADP's "Breaking Barriers" break room instillation,
- Amazon's "Garden of Earthly Delights" Based on "Good Omens,"
- My failed attempt to see the World Premier of "Us,"
- Deep Eddy's "Enter Galactic" show
- A panel with Trevor Noah & "The Daily Show" cast,
- Vice's "Skateland" pop up roller rink,
- An interview with THE Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (feat. Bill Nye),
- The ACLU's 100th Anniversary Concert feat Tom Morello & Questlove,
