Choosing to be joyful is not always the easy choice. In fact at times leading with joy can feel in complete contrast to the junction you’re at in life. Whether you’re faced with challenges to your health, or relationship decisions, or even an ongoing stressful period at work – how you show up for yourself makes all the difference to the results you will see.
Paediatric Occupational Therapist, mama to two and all round joyful being, Amparo Soto, shares some of the ways she chooses to keep showing up for herself in today’s episode.
She’s chosen to see the world in a positive light and its served her well. We met after she followed her gut and “we’ll figure it out” mindset to Japan to teach English for a year, which ultimately supported her to discover a career that is perfect for her (even though she didn’t really know what it was or that it existed). This mindset has continue to support her through her since her son’s in utero diagnosis of congenital heart defects and subsequent multiple surgeries. She says it’s her family, her deep love, and her new love of running 😉 that elevates her even on her toughest days, to feel happy.
Here’s some of what we talk about:
*having a “give it a go” mindset based on how things feel
*creating a strong support system, family and love
*daily appreciation of what you have
*trusting in the lessons you learn along the way
*finding your own outlets to be alone and recharge
*finding a profession that feels like play
