Ten years after his first appearance on Medic2Medic on August 28, 2016, Jeff Dill returns to the podcast. Jeff is a retired Fire Captain, counselor, and founder of the Firefighter Behavioral Health Alliance. Since 2010, he has dedicated his work to improving behavioral health awareness and suicide prevention for firefighters, EMS professionals, dispatchers, and their families.

In this episode, Steve and Jeff look back at what has and hasn't changed over the past decade. The conversation explores first responder suicide, the importance of tracking and understanding the data, moral injury, peer support, organizational culture, and whether our profession has truly improved behavioral health support or simply become better at talking about it.

Jeff also shares lessons from his work as Behavioral Health Administrator for Las Vegas Fire & Rescue, the impact our careers can have on families, and why hope remains such an important part of his message. Ten years later, this remains a conversation our profession needs to have.
