While we understand your concern, not everyone who identifies as non-binary defines it the same way 🙂 Koren self-identified as "he" and referred to himself as a man throughout the episode, and so when we were considering pronoun usage for the ep description (which we always do), we ultimately decided to defer to he/him. That was what felt most relevant to Koren's story; especially since we spent so much of it discussing toxic masculinity and the like. We did, however, specifically include "non-binary" in the description, and have now additionally added (he/they) after the first mention of Koren's name. While this is not true for all of our guests, in this particular instance, one of us (Nicole) is friends with Koren, and is therefore personally aware of the nuances of their pronouns/gender. Nicole also did speak directly to Koren to make sure that what we'd written was okay, and he enthusiastically signed off on it. A different example entirely would be Lauren Ludwig (Episode 9 and Episode 187), whom Lauren (Flans) is very close with. Lauren Ludwig (she/they) requested they/them pronouns for their episode description, but chooses to exclusively use she/her on her own website. Please know that our guests' comfort - in every respect - is always our number one priority, and to that end, we do check in with them about the various decisions we make regarding their episodes. It's also worth noting that "not everyone who identifies as _____ defines it the same way" applies to ALL labels, which is why we are such broken records about how important it is to speak to the individual in question directly, regardless of what their labels may prompt you to assume! Hi, I loved this episode. Koren specified using both he and they pronouns. Would you mind using both in their description instead of exclusively using he/him? Your hashtags also refer to Koren as "man" when they have specified nonbinary... It is misgendering. Thank you
